Welcome to Laurie's website and blog. Laurie began her career at the age of 21 when she was hired by Kodak as an in house photographer. Just having graduated from Syracuse University with a dual photo degree from both the School of Visual Arts and SI Newhouse, she was well on her way to building a corporate photography business. Laurie has had the pleasure of working with and learning from some of the top photographers in the area before starting her business in Philadelphia. She currently enjoys a successful corporate photography business www.lauriepetersonphotography.com and added weddings to her business in 2002. At the same time, she began teaching non-silver photography at The University of The Arts and shows her fine art work locally as well as in NYC and California. Laurie and her second photographer pay special attention to each wedding and work hard to create images that reflect the personality and individualism of each couple. She blends her experience with portrature and photojournalism to give your images a contemporary feel and tell the story of your special day.

Laurie is pleased to welcome Rie Jones as her exclusive album designer. Rie joins Laurie Beck Photography with over 25 years of experience both behind the camera as well as in production. Laurie and Rie work closely with each couple to build albums that are uniquely theirs.

Having worked with corporate clients such as Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Glaxo Smith Kline, The Wellness Institute, American Federation of Teachers, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Abington Memorial Hospital and also having the pleasure of photographing Prince Charles, President Clinton, Kenny Rogers, Meryl Streep, and recently Tony Danza for his new reality TV show in the Philadelphia Schools, Laurie brings a wealth of knowledge to any situation. Recently, Laurie's wedding work was featured in the 2009 fall issue of Bride's Magazine's Real Weddings. Her work can also be seen on websites of many vendors as well as in a full window display at The Inn at Penn.
