Caroline and Adam chose to have their first look in the beautiful backyard gardens of her family home in Bryn Mawr where we stayed for formals.
The shoes Caroline wore were her mother’s wedding shoes dyed blue.
The ceremony was held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Gladwyne. It was an interfaith Jewish/Episcopal ceremony.
The reception was held at Gulph Mills Golf Club and the fabulous Pam Conly was the wedding planner. Many thanks to Pam and Christi for such a beautiful job!
Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen was the first dance and boy did Caroline and Adam tear up the dance floor.
Most of the night was spent dancing to The Big Chill Band, but we were all treated to some special a capella entertainment from The Harvard Low Keys. Caroline and Adam jumped right in.
Pam Conly planned a rose petal and brass exit when the reception ended. Caroline and Adam marched out behind the brass, into the limo and off to their honeymoon in Greece!
The only thin missing from Caroline and Adam’s wedding was Toby the dog. He did have his time in the spot light at the engagement session but I am sure he would have loved to come to the wedding too!
Emily writes: Laurie – they’re wonderful!! I just called my mom and we were squealing together as we looked through them Thank you so much

Every year when the wedding season winds down, I spend my time concentrating on my commercial and fine art work, as well as teaching a spring semester at University of the Arts and Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. Though I haven’t been blogging regularly, I have actually been quite busy. This is the second in a series of posts I will make about the work I have done over the past 3 months – and hopefully I will finish them all before the wedding season gets into full swing next month. This time, it’s Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Look at the post below for Jose Garces!!
LIVING BEYOND BREAST CANCER
I am the lucky photographer who has the privilage to work with some of the most courageous and beautiful women around – breast cancer survivors. This year, I was asked by Living Beyond Breast Cancer to travel from Philadelphia to Chicago to Little Rock Arkansas to work on a project focusing on African American breast cancer survivors. I can say that this opportunity is one that will change your life. These women radiated with beauty and vibrancy and even though some were exhausted from ongoing treatments, they put up with the hours of make up and shooting in the cold temperatures and never once complained. Below is a selection of photos from the 3 city shoot. These women are amazing……….
Many, many thanks to Charlies Kenessen from Kenessen Designs and Arin Ahlum Hanson from LBBC; my crew in Philly, Mark Stehle – assistant and Claudia Seyler – stylist; in Chicago, Tim Jarosz- assistant and Eunita Carter – stylist; and in Little Rock, Rie Jones – assistant and Tamara Lambert - stylist. I can’t wait to see the finished piece!

This is the first in a series of posts I will make about the work I have done over the past 3 months – and hopefully I will finish them all before the wedding season gets into full swing next month. Let’s start with Jose Garces!!
Dunnhumby, USA contacted me around the first of the year about photographing Philadelphia chef Jose Garces for a series of ads for The Kroger Co. The assignment was to photograph Jose and his mother preparing empinadas in Jose’s beautiful kitchen in his center city home. These ads will run around mothers day at Kroger food stores, primarily in the south and midwest. My crew – stylist Tracy Olkus and assistant Mark Stehle – and I had a wonderful time on the shoot but were sad when the finished empinadas went to Jose’s son when he got home from school! Here are a few out takes from the session.
If you haven’t already visited some of the Jose Garces restaurants, you really owe it to yourself to go. Bon Appetit!
I am pleased to be counted among the group of artist who are showing their figurative work in the show In My Body: Reworks. The show features 5 of my non-silve gum bichromate pieces. Nude #1 is of my daughter Riley, floating in a swimming pool. As many of you know, in addition to my commercial and wedding business, I teach non-silver photography at The University of The Arts and at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. It’s been a while since I have shown my work so I am very excited to be a part of First Friday once again. Stop on by if you can! If you can’t, the show will be up until March 19 and there will be a semi-closing reception on First Friday March 4, 5pm-7pm. Gallery hours Tuesday-Saturday 12-6.
