A LOOK BACK

(part one)

January is a great time to look back at some favorites from what Laurie Beck Photography has created in the past year, and then look ahead to the exciting weddings and photos yet to be made at The Ballroom at The Ben, The Philadelphia Country Club, Spring Mill Manor, and The Radnor Hotel to name a few; and for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Valley Green Bank and the rest of my commercial clients.

EMILY + CHRIS

GLEN FOERD MANSION

Emily and Chris were engaged on a snowy evening in 2008, so it was only fitting that their wedding took place during the October snowstorm on the 29th.  Neither one seemed particularly concerned about the snow and were in good spirits about moving what was to be the fall outdoor ceremony, indoors.  Conroy Catering and Synergetic Sounds helped make the day run smoothly.  It seems ironic that the wedding I shot at Laurita Winery during hurricane Irene was with the same two vendors!  Next time I am requesting sunshine.

A tender moment with mom.

The flowers were by Precious Petals and featured Emily’s favorite color purple.  Rings by Hon Ngai Jewelry and Halloween.

Because of the inclement weather, we were limited in our formal locations, but the front porch of Glen Foerd worked well, with the exception of the fact that it was freezing!!  Everyone was a good sport.  It almost looks like it was warm out!!

Chris and his best man decided they needed to hold hands for a walking shot!

Emily and Chris had told me how they really wanted to have some photos by the dog sculpture, so we went outside for a few shots.

The decor at the reception was wonderful and so creative.  The personalized pumpkins actually inspired me to get really creative this year and carve our halloween pumpkin to look like our weimaraner!

Chris and Emily spent their honeymoon at The Carter Notch Inn in Jackson, NH.

JANINE + NELSON

KNOWLTON MANSION

Janine and Nelson were married on a rainy Friday at Knowlton Mansion.  Even though the weather did not cooperate for an outdoor ceremony and formal session, inside you would have never know it was raining.  Janine is a commercial client of mine from Living Beyond Breast Cancer and I was honored when she asked me to photographer her very special wedding day.  It was fun getting to know her outside of our work lives and to meet Nelson, the guys who stole her heart!

The butterfly clasp on Janine’s bracelet was just beautiful.  Nelson, in keeping with the butterfly theme, gave Janine a butterfly necklace after the ceremony as a wedding gift.

Janine wore a wedding dress from Maggie Sottero.

Janine and Nelson had the very good taste to have their flowers done by Robertson’s Florist, the same florist I used for my wedding.

Nelson chose to have grooms women instead of men.  I am sure there are many jealous guys out there who wish their grooms men were as good looking as Nelson’s grooms women!

I must admit, when I saw Janine holding back the tears as she was walking down the aisle, I had a hard time keeping my tears in as well.

Janine and Nelson, I wish you a very long and happy married life.  Thank you for asking me to be your photographer!

See the  slide show below for  more images from the wedding.  Enjoy!
