Lenny and Christine are my friends from Wissahickon Hockey Rink, where our boys play squirt hockey together. They came to me looking for wedding photography, but really they were looking for memories for their boys – photos and an album that would focus on family and highlight their sons, Nick and Jake, as they joined their lives together. A second marriage for both, they had a small ceremony and luncheon, so the boys could get back to playing hockey and being boys, and they could get on to their honeymoon!
Each boy posed with the rings for me, Nick held Christine’s and Jake held Lenny’s, practicing not dropping them during the ceremony!
Valley Green was the backdrop for this early spring wedding. I haven’t photographed a wedding at Valley Green in quite a while and I was reminded of how much I love this venue right in my backyard. Kate and Mike used the natural backdrop of the landscape and focused on the beauty of their vows and gathering of friends to make this such a special wedding. I was quite impressed that they were both so calm and in the moment considering that Kate’s house was full of boxes waiting for her move to St Loius a week after the wedding!
