Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Conference
Las Vegas
In March, my designer and I attended the WPPI conference in Las Vegas. Aside from loving life in Vegas, we spent numerous hours attending classes and scoping out the latest in albums and resources to bring back to our Philly studio. We are excited to be currently designing new sample albums from some fabulous new vendors. That was during the day……….
….but night time was for fun and photos! I always love to come back to the studio with images that I have taken and sit down to edit. These images were taken over 4 days , with both my iphone and DSLR. During the editing process, it became quite obvious that I had a series of diptychs. These images seemed un-realated when I shot them, but I love them together. Enjoy!

WELCOME TO THE NEW STUDIO OF LAURIE BECK PHOTOGRAPHY

Finally, after 5 months of construction, the new studio is up and running! It has been a great experience to save an old stone structure and convert it into a “green” studio – exposed wissahickon schist stone wall, green roof, radiant heat under a poured and stained concrete floor, rain barrel so I can water the garden in the summer and wonderful available light. The new studio has a comfortable meeting space where you can relax, enjoy some libations and refreshments while viewing album samples, a state of the art monitor to preview your wedding photos and the chance to see some of my non-silver photography work, which up until now was only shown in galleries. We are available by appointment and are here working everyday when we are not out on assignment.

Swamp, Cliff and Carpenter Woods Tree hang above the couch in the meeting area. For more samples of my non-silver photography please visit www.Inliquid.com/artist/beck_peterson_laurie/beck.php
Soon I will be offering wedding images in the same 19th century historic process.

It’s the construction tarp on the new green roof on my studio! I’ve been gazing at the blue tarp that has been covering the old stone garage, and watching James McCoy and his crew work. They have raised the sides of the building using the original Wissahickon Schist and are renovating the interior and exterior in keeping with the buildings’ character and keeping it green! Construction is expected to be completed at the end of September when I will be able to have clients meet to see samples of my work and view their wedding images in the comfort of my newly renovated studio. Stay tuned for updates and photos. James is expected to get creative with some original furniture designs using the extra materials!
