Kendra and Sean were married at Laurita Winery in New Egypt, New Jersey during hurricane Irene. Right before the decision was made to cut the reception short, Kendra and Sean agreed to go down to the wine cellar for a few photos. They turned out to be some of my favorites from the wedding. My second photographer and I were lucky enough to get the last room in a hotel down the road because driving had become too bad. Conroy Catering and Synergetic Sounds weren’t able to get out so they spent the night at Laurita.
I am sure Sean and Kendra were nervous as they looked out the window before seeing each other for the fist time. Both about the first look and the weather!
Once again I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding as an associate for my friend and fellow photographer Heather Fowler because she was expecting the birth of her first baby. I think we have a very special community of photographers in the Philadelphia area who can be there for each other when something arises like having a baby when you are booked to shoot a wedding! I also think that our clients benefit from the relationships we have with our peers, and the willingness to come together for each other when the unexpected may happen. I spent Saturday with Kendra and Sean and Irene, at Laurita Winery in New Egypt, New Jersey! As the wind and rain from the hurricane were whipping up, Kendra and Sean said their vows inside the cozy winery. Although they had to cut the reception short by a few hours, we were able get through all the formalities before making our way back as far as the hotel in Hamilton NJ. Our friends at Conroy Catering and Synergetic Sounds weren’t able to get out so they spent the night at Laurita. In my opinion, if you can’t get to a hotel in a hurricane, the next best place to be is a winery!! Here are a few images. More will follow in a full post.
Kate and Ryan were married on July 24 at Congress Hall in Cape May. My good friend and talented photographer Heather Fowler contacted me to be her associate photographer for the wedding. Heather is expecting her first child in just a few short weeks and asked if I could shoot this for her, as her due date was getting close. I knew what a wonderful wedding this would be during our planning meeting with Kate and Ryan at Heather’s studio.
