JENNIFER + ERIC

post wedding session

Last May Jennifer and Eric were married at Appleford. a beautiful outdoor setting in Villanova.  When I first met with Jennifer to discuss her wedding, she asked if we could schedule a post session in Center City where she and Eric live, so she could also have some urban photos.  Our first attempt was during the summer in 100+ degree weather.  We mutually decided that was a bad idea!!  When we finally shot, we visited many of the locations special to both of them, and wrapped up the shoot at Penn’s Landing, where Jennifer and Eric who are both avid runners like to train.

I know it’s cold and snowy outside in Philly now, so it is especially nice to take time as the wedding season winds down and post some work that I shot in the warm weather!!

MONICA and TONY

I haven’t been to Longwood Gardens in years. I think Monica, Tony, my assistant and I could have spent all day shooting and looking at the wonderful holiday display. It was a cold day in early January and I was a bit worried about not being able to stay outside too long and use the wonderful grounds as our backdrop.  We shot a bit on our way to the conservatory but once I got inside and felt the warmth and took in the aroma of the flowers, I realized I wasn’t going outside again.  Monica and Tony couldn’t have agreed more!!

Well ok, I did shoot outside again but it was as we were leaving!  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding on May 1, 2010 at The William Penn Inn.

Tracey and Cedric are getting married next Friday and wanted a photo for their signature mat.  So, off to the Museum of Art we go!  What a wonderful couple to work with – laid back and easy going – and getting more comfortable in front of the camera. I loved the bright orange shirt Tracey had on, so I used it as an accent by choosing a background that was warm toned, which allows the palette to be harmonious and puts the focus on them – with a bit of orange to spice it up.  It is important to me to incorporate the clothing and individual style of my couples in my work, and not to turn them into people they aren’t.

Rebekah and Sunil chose to have their engagement session at LOVE Park.  After many rainy days, we were finally able to shoot!  It is always great to work with couples in a casual setting, letting them become comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.  Finding a location that may be special to the couple or making suggestions about places that I feel would make exciting, fun photos is key to a smooth shoot.
